I was today years old, when I learned a lot more about artist Ruth Asawa.
I knew that she repped the Bay; she was born in Norwalk in 1926 and died in San Francisco 12 years ago. That she inspired and supported Ruth’s Table, a community arts initiative for older adults located in the Mission. That she had significant works on display around town, at Union Square and down at Ghirardelli Square, for instance. And I had seen some of her mesmerizing and vibe-y hanging artwork at the de Young Museum.
Nice to learn more about the individual.
Ruth Asawa: Retrospective is on view at the SFMOMA through Sept. 2.
