Today #SanFrancisco woke up to news reports that some 120 members of the @sffdpio responded to a pre-dawn four-alarm warehouse fire on #Pier45, a hop and a skip to the right of where I took this pic yesterday. No injuries had been reported as of this writing. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from reaching the WWII battleship SS Jeremiah O’Brien docked at the pier, which also houses The Fishermen’s and Seamen’s Memorial Chapel and the Musée Mécanique.
In the way of an update, at this time I can relay the Musée Mécanique and the chapel, to the best of my knowledge, were spared.
A San Francisco Fire Department firefighter was injured and taken to hospital but is expected to be just fine.
And just like that, we are reminded that this is a savage world.
Some of us forgot.
It really changes just like that. And it is all about survival, indeed.
And about living.
So not about being savage….
